The Jackson Malia Fund for Children with Special Needs is a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization dedicated to helping sick and hospitalized children and their families in New Jersey.
The Fund grants gifts to select organizations and individuals that will provide financial and emotional support to sick and hospitalized children and their families, as identified by the Board of Directors. We provide assistance to help them meet their financial demands not covered by medical insurance.
The Fund assists as many families as possible, and in all cases, one hundred percent of the money donated goes directly to meeting their needs.
The Fund provides assistance that is rarely given by other organizations. Some examples include, but are not limited to:
- Providing transportation costs to patients and their families - Purchasing gift cards for groceries, clothing, bedding - Providing holiday meals for hospitalized patients and families - Purchasing items to ease the trauma and boredom of a long hospital stay including laptops, iPods, toys, books and art supplies for young patients - Providing funds to celebrate treatment milestones and birthdays while in the hospital
The Fund’s major fundraiser is an annual golf tournament to be held this year on October 6 at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, New Jersey. Other fundraisers are planned.

Jack's Story
In memory of our beloved son Jack, we hope to help other children in the New Jersey area. Whether their need is due to illness or purely financial, our goal is to not only make their lives a little better but to let their parents and family know they're not alone.
Jack was a triplet, born October 11, 2007 at St. Barnabas Hospital in West Orange New Jersey. First born was Charlotte, then Katie, then our little Jack, each weighing about 3 pounds. While his sisters thrived and grew stronger every day, coming home after 4 weeks in the NICU, Jack struggled. He was unable to come off the ventilator, among other issues.
On November 13, 2007 he was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, one of the leading children's hospitals in the country. We had high hopes they would be able to help our Jack, but unfortunately they were unable to. Jack continued to deteriorate and on January 2, 2008 he passed away.
Jack touched so many people in his short life. Just because he's gone, his message and his inspiration doesnt need to end.
